Charm Bracelet Buyers Guide

Because charm bracelets are so personal, they have become very popular in recent years. With traditional charm bracelets, you really had to take each new charm to a jewellers for them to fit it but today's charm bracelets are infinitely flexible and you can change them at will yourselves.

There are three main different styles of modern day composable charm bracelet:

1. Slip on Pandora style charm bracelets - each charm either hangs from a ring or has a hole through its centre and slides onto a bracelet, anklet or necklace. Probably one of the best known (and also most expensive!!) brands is Pandora and the bracelets are often known as Pandora style bracelets. We stock a universal Sterling Silver range and both the Italian designed Biagi Sterling Silver range and Chrysalis Sterling Silver range which are fully compatible with Pandora but considerably less expensive
2. Italian charm link bracelets - these consist of a series of stainless steel links with a design on the face of each link. Nomination is one of the best known brands in this category but there are many other makes
3. Traditional "Sweetie" hanging charm bracelets -  a modern take on the traditional charm bracelet where individual charms are hung from a chain bracelet or an elasticated link bracelet. Today's charms are each fitted with a lobster claw clasp instead of just a jump ring so you can clip them on yourselves and rearrange them to suit. One style of bracelet is the Sweetie bracelet where the charms hang from a bracelet consisting of lots of silver rings. Most charm bracelets are made from Sterling Silver with enamel and Cubic Zirconia detailing on the charms. You will often find Gold or Gold plating on either the charms or the bracelets themselves. Nomination style bracelets tend to be made from hard wearing Stainless Steel like many watches but again with silver or gold detailing.
